Situated less than a stone’s throw from the beautiful Sennen sand and under Sennen Cove’s spectacular Beach restaurant, our location is the envy of all. Running 7 days a week from April 1st to October half term, our award-winning surf school gives you the opportunity to learn to surf in Cornwall with beginner, improver and advanced coaching.
Our wonderful team of instructors include English and British Champions and Sponsored riders who are well travelled, enthusiastic and eager to share their skills and knowledge with you. All our staff are fully qualified coaches and Beach Lifeguards.
Head coach & Owner
As one of the Uk’s most experienced coaches, Dave continues to coach as well as run the shop.
A rep for surfers against sewage, Dave is working hard to reduce single use plastic in the local community and further afield.
A family man and a working photographer, Dave is a busy man.
Instructor – 4 Years
One of the keenest and most enthusiastic instructors, Harry is always on hand to keep the stoke. When “Harry the hair” is not surfing or coaching he’s playing music and recording his next album.
Coach and Office

With locks to die for and one of the schools finest coaches, a talented long boarder and has a wealth of knowledge. The creator of Bluff longboards, Jackson is a fine board shaper and can be found mowing foam on his days off.
Owner… Boss
The behind the scenes wife of Dave, Laura runs the shop with Dave and Jo.
Mum to Elsie and Olive,Laura also added a little boy called Aven to the mix this winter.
Laura will be sharing the load with Dave this year but you’ll find her in the shop most days.
Beach legend
A teacher at Humphry Davy secondary school in Penzance, Luke spends his summer putting his skills as a teacher and his passion as a surfer to good use helping people learn to surf in Cornwall. Another of our senior coaches and a south coast boy at heart, you’re likely to bump into Luke wherever there’s a rumour of a decent wave.
Sandmonkey
Theo joined us last year after many years as a surf cadet through our junior programme.
A true product of the surf school, Theo brings with him a fresh approach to coaching and as a star singer songwriter he’s also one to keep an eye out for.
Tea boy
Brodehouse graduated through our Cadets winning various awards along the way including joker, dancing queen and stance monster. Don’t let that fresh face deceive you – if you’re looking to learn to surf in Cornwall, you’re in safe hands when B-Boys around.
Senior Instructor
Former English champion and a rising star amongst the UK’s top surfers we are very proud of Isaac as one of Sennen’s future stars. A natural coach and great sense of humour, we are lucky to have Isaac as part of our team.

Pro Surfer
O’Neill Team Rider and fastest paddler in the west, Jake is another of SSC’s success stories. Starting with the club over 10 years ago, his ability was never doubted. He has forged a career in surfing with O’Neill officially making him an ambassador earlier this year.

George is as hot as it gets.
This year will begins third year coaching with us but he’s been involved for much longer.
George competes on the UK pro Tour and this year joins the big boys. Well keep

Photographer, artist and musician
Easily the coolest instructor at SSC, a talent both in and out the water. Her flair as a photographer, artist and musician is narrowly trumped by her surfing prowess. A British Longboard champion and consistently top 3 in the UK Maisie has a promising professional surfing career ahead of her.
Cadet extraordinaire
Gwil has been coaching with us for 5 years. Gwil adds style and chiselled good looks to the team.
You’ll know Gwil as the super stylish longboarder who catches almost every wave. He’s also been with the school since he was about 7. We love Gwilder.
